Aditya Birla Group with its presence in major businesses makes it one of the most widespread and diverse groups not just in India but also in 35 countries across different geographies. The way Aditya Birla Group has touched millions of lives directly through its customer-centric products and services or indirectly through industrial products that support in building the nation’s economy and infrastructure is simply exceptional.
In my case, there are so many brands that have made a direct impact on my daily life. One of the brands that occupy the topmost position in my list is Peter England, a part of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. Around a year ago when I had to buy an entire new wardrobe of formal wear for my MBA, I didn’t think twice but visit the nearest Peter England showroom. An entire wardrobe full of only Peter England formal shirts and trousers is a testament of trust and love towards the brand. Contemporary and affordable fashion along with great quality and value for money has made the brand reach a larger customer base.
My perception of the conglomerate has always been at great heights and companies such as Ultratech Cement and Hindalco only reinforce the same by being the country’s largest producer of cement and aluminium respectively. Having a history of more than 160 years and growing at a consistent pace year after year, Aditya Birla Group keeps expanding to different businesses and continues to impact the society at large.
Challenges are the steppingstones: Life is never a smooth swing but it’s always a roller coaster
What is life without any challenges? Are challenges specific to only some people or is it universal? Sometimes life puts us on crossroads, and it becomes challenging for one to figure out the next move. In some other times, it becomes imminent for one to take up new challenges when the status quo is mundane and lacklustre. At some or the other point in my life, I got to face both of such situations.
Be it former or the latter, what matters is how the challenge was tackled. While I was preparing for my MBA entrance exam, it was incidentally the same time I was given a project with maximum responsibility and of course the return and recognition. The project was in the implementation stage and I had to deal with multiple stakeholders from different departments of the organization as well as the vendors and the dealers. As much as it was interesting and engaging, it was also hectic and challenging. I had to manage my preparation along with my regular job. At one stage I was even wondering whether I was giving enough time and focus to either of these things. Sometimes I would feel that I am not doing justice to my studies. Things turn out that I happen to finish the project execution in just over a month and get an admission call from IIM Raipur at the same time.
The bottom line here is that no matter how challenging the situation is, one needs passion, grit, and determination overcome all the hurdles and be successful.
