Huda: What is the first thought that comes to your mind when we say, 'Aditya Birla Group'?Vineet Laroiya: I think the brand itself is big and the brand equity is the first thing that comes to my mind, what is synonymous with ABG is the trust associated with the Brand which we all resonate with. Huda: How is a typical day at the ABG office, in general?Vineet Laroiya: I work as a part of the Corporate Strategy team, we report directly to the chairman of the Group. We take care of the entire product portfolio in the Group, right from Manufacturing to Services. A typical day starts around 9:30 or 10. You check your e-mails whatever project you're working on because you are the Group corporate function you work closely with the businesses or the projects you are involved in. So, you directly go at the business site or travel to a plant or travel to client location within the city. There are a lot of ABG offices where other businesses are situated so I travel a lot within Bombay, so yeah typical day consists of checking your emails working directly with the business and traveling a bit, calls and you know a lot of Excel and presentations are a part of life here so having an MBA definitely helps.Huda: How does the organisation help in your professional and career growth?Vineet Laroiya: ABG has a structured development path for people but as ABGLPs we have a more fine-tuned path. So, for example, your first role should be of two years then you are eligible to move into a different role that can be in a different function, it depends upon the requirement for the same role if available in the business.
