Huda: What is the first thought that comes to your mind when we say 'Aditya Birla Group'?Praveen: To me, ABG is all about the “Arena of Opportunities” it offers an individual to grow in one’s career.Huda: How is a typical day at ABG office in general?Praveen: In General a typical day is a mix and match of new learning from your daily routine as well as learning from the leaders/stalwarts in your business.Currently I am working as a Regional Logistics Head at UltraTech Cement. My work is to ensure on time full supplies to our customers at minimized costs to the company.Every day is a new challenge with changes in diesel prices to new rules and regulations, changes in various Government departments to Unions related issues, addressing all these gives a wide range of experience. Every single day is a new learning and there are highly talented people in the top whom you can reach out at any time for any help.Huda: How does the organization help in your professional and career growth?Praveen: The beauty of the ABGLP program is that it gives us the flavours of various businesses within a span of one year, which helps us to understand from where we need to start our career.During my first year I had stints in Aditya Birla Retail Limited (More), Indo Gulf Fertilisers and UltraTech Cement limited, that gave me an understanding of how various businesses operate as per their industry norms. The businesses seek suggestions from ABGLPs to improve the stint and our recommendations are implemented on time. Seeing your efforts yielding results is one of the best parts one can get to enjoy.Post that I wanted to get into a core operations role, so the Group without any hesitations gave me an offer in UltraTech Cement limited to be the Regional Logistics Head for South Karnataka region, which is one of the biggest regions for UltraTech in South India. Believing on a fresher to do a target of handling the logistics of approx 50 Lakh Bags of Cement a month is a very big thing. This shows the belief the Group has on the ABGLP’s. The Group also consistently engaged me in various developmental programs to mould me for future roles in the Group.Huda: What's the one thing that you might want to add/change at ABG?Praveen: ABG as it is what I have enjoyed till date and wanted to enjoy going further as well.
