Annual Fests are an important part of business schools. IFMR GSB hosted its flagship two-day management and cultural fest called Abhyudaya’20 on 15th and 16th of February 2020. As a part of it, various b-school competitions were conducted, where students from different colleges visited the campus and took part actively.
The event’s theme, ‘Das Kino’ (which translates to the Big Screen in German) was unveiled on 1 September 2019. The logo was launched officially on 6th January by Honourable MP Dr. Shashi Tharoor. The trailer was launched on 3rd February. A Flash Mob, called the Curtain Raiser, which marks the official countdown to Abhyudaya was organised by Krea University students in association with the dance clubs on 5th February to mark the dawn of the event. The event was designed in such a way that all competitions, as well as each round of the competition, had incorporated the element of Cinema.
On the wonderful morning of 15th February, the event kickstarted with the inaugural speech by chief guests, Mr. Ramesh Mangaleswaran, McKinsey Director and Mr. Navneet Sulakhe, Head of Talent Management- Landmark Group. The contests included various quizzes, management case study rounds, battle of words and various others. Krea University conducted its First-Ever Annual Film Festival in the span of these two days. Also, there were competitions in drama, dance and football, where students from various clubs and colleges have taken part.
Informal nights are an integral part of any fest. There was a DJ night and a band performance respectively on each night of the event. DJ Night was hosted by GetMassive, who played in various events and alongside Arvin Van Buuren. Abhyudaya ended with a mesmerising band performance by the band Antriksh. Students from different colleges had a wonderful impromptu late-night Jamming session.
The participants enjoyed these two days to the fullest, where they learned a lot and had a bag of memories to take back with them. They have found a new dimension of joy in these days.
