And this is what we, at IIM Kashipur believes in. Here, the philosophy behind academics is not to teach some concepts mentioned in books. Instead, it is learning by doing. Academics are the core of IIM Kashipur which not only test your intelligence but your rigour and passion for doing work. The program is developed in such a manner that it results in all-round personality development. The course is divided into 6 terms, 3 terms in one year. The first year provides a zest of general management resulting in holistic learning followed by a summer internship where you get to know the practical perspective of what you learnt. The second-year helps in digging down deeper in your areas of interest. At IIM Kashipur, the academic curriculum has been designed in such a way that it transforms the relationship of teacher-student into facilitator-learner. A Case study-based learning pedagogy allows your mind to think from the viewpoint of the protagonist of the case and develop a solution. This is supported by industrial visits at frequent intervals. Also, the curriculum helps students develop the base for academic and corporate competitions. The classroom provides a platform for learner and facilitator to interact. But all the learning cannot be restricted to that room. 70% of your learning happens outside the class along with your peers. Groups and peers play an important role in corporate life. We realize this thing. Hence our curriculum focuses on group tasks whereby you work with 5-6 people regularly throughout the year tackling not only the problem in your hand but also the troubles that you may face while working in a group. This is followed by class presentations and reports which act as a foundation. Also, regular peer learning sessions clear out any scope for doubt remaining in the mind of students. Quizzes form an important part of the academic calendar to ensure that students always remain on track and do not forget what they have learnt. Finally, 2 exams on a single day prepare you for the worst. At the end of the day, by trying to develop the curiosity to learn, we ensure that students continue the learning process throughout their life.
