If I open my wardrobe and check the brands of the clothes that I have, more than half of them would be of Aditya Birla group’s fashion brands like Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, etc. ABG has pioneered the fashion industry for a long time and has set very high standards. In 1988, Madura garments was established as an apparel division of Madura coats limited.
In 1999, Aditya Birla acquired Madura Fashion and Lifestyle to become the undisputed leader in the readymade menswear industry in India. The superior value of their clothing brands has compelled me to buy from ABG’s brands consistently. Other factors like segmented pricing, amazing after sales service, its presence in small towns of India, the variety of clothes provided have contributed to maintaining its position as one of the leaders in menswear fashion worldwide.
Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail form a very small part of the Aditya Birla Group. Hindalco Industries (copper and aluminium industry), Grasim industries which includes chemicals, Ultratech cement, telecom(Idea) and financial services and Birla Sun Life Insurance are the other major sectors that have contributed to the legacy of Aditya Birla Group. Its present chairman, Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla has worked tirelessly to contribute to the development of Aditya Birla Group. ABG’s contribution to Indian society has been enormous as well and under the leadership of Mrs. Rajshree Birla, is proactively working towards the betterment of our society and partnering with the government for an inclusive growth.
K.M. Birla has also established Aditya Birla Management Corporation Limited, a strategic decision making for ensuring the best practices across the group companies. ABG leadership program LEAP is one of the most sought after leadership programs that all B-school students want to be a part of. The same goes for me as well. As a 1
st year student of NMIMS Mumbai, I aspire to be a part of ABG LEAP program in future and contribute to the betterment of the society.
