Part A : Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life
Aditya Birla Group, a house of brands with which I am associated with from a very long time, I started with buying peter England clothes, It was long back when I was in school, Even my dad is also fond of peter England but my favorites are Louis Philippe, Allen Solly and Van Heusen, Its been 10 years since my first purchase that was a peter England shirt, now Louis Phillippe is a brand which gives me the best fit and style, ABFRL is a brand on which I have trust on since my childhood. The five core values Integrity, Commitment, Passion, Seamlessness and Speed truly defines what Aditya Birla Group exactly is and its experience. Another important thing with which kept me associated with Aditya Birla group was Idea Cellular. In a way I always consider it as a premium conglomerate, a house of brands, where all of its brands connecting with masses as well as classes. More was just me accepting the Aditya Birla Group in my life, however being a frequent shopper at Louis Phillippe I can easily say I have embraced it completely. For an average middle class Indian, home is an emotion. When we were building our house, I remember the cement that was used was Ultra tech cement, So I can say, in a way or the other, Me and my family was always associated with the Aditya Birla group since so long. Apart from doing business, it is very important to give back to the society for its welfare and Aditya Birla Group is big in people’s life in many ways because of its diversified CSR initiatives in various fields such as to empower women, partnership with industrial training institutes, vocational training through Aditya Birla Rural Technology Parks, watershed development), social change (dowry-less marriage, widow remarriage, de-addiction program), Aditya Birla CSR Centre of Excellence and Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development and performance management (developing plans for the development of the marginalized).
Part B : How I came challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far
Hardships are a part of life, A person in his life time , some time or the other needs to overcome these hurdles and achieve success. When I was working as a systems engineer at Infosys, I always thought about moving to the product side of the IT business, since I was on the services side initially, My ambition was to work on development of software products. After an year of wait, finally I got a chance through Infosys only, which I can say was a window to the new horizon, Infosys started its new product based subsidiary company Edgeverve systems Limited, so new company led to new vacancies for product engineers. So this window of opportunity came in the form of internal job posting from Infosys, the selection criteria was quite challenging, which included a hands on programming exam followed by a rigorous personal interview, but I started preparing for it very seriously and yes I got through it clearing all the rounds and my target was achieved.
After that, after two and half years of experience at Edgeverve, my new ambition was to explore the management side of the IT business, I was always interested to know how project budgeting is done, how resources are planned for a particular project, how sales and pre-sales team work, hence I decided to put my efforts for MBA preparations. Apart from my regular office work of 9.5 hours, I used to study for 6-7 hours on a daily basis and yes I landed in one of the finest B-schools of India finally, hence I would like to say that hard work always pays off.
