Why Aditya Birla group is big in my life?
I once read somewhere that there are businessmen, then there are industrialists. When we talk about a business house as old and powerful as the Aditya Birla group, neither words do it justice. For an organization that has touched so many lives in so many ways, nothing can really describe it. From its inception in 1857 to the present day, the group’s growth and expansion is similar to India’s. a brand that is present everywhere and has achieved milestones in success is definitely something to be emulated. From metals, cement to fashion and telecom, their influence can be seen everywhere.
To me, it represents success and growth at its peak. To solve so many problems for the customers and in so many ways is really phenomenal. From their retail clothing division in pantaloons, to telecom business in the form of Idea Cellular, they have been at the forefront of leading Indians toward better products and services.
But this growth was not possible without the leadership and focus of the Birla family. To have consistently focused leaders at the helm of the ship is the reason why the group has weathered through any storm. Turning a family business into a multi-faceted success story has been the product of Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla.
But it’s not just about the business for the group. It has also been about giving back through their charity and helping society. Through their CSR activities, the Aditya Birla group has touched lives in other ways too.
And for these reasons, Aditya Birla Group is a big influence in my life.
What challenges I overcame in my life?
Growing up as a regular middle-class child, academics played a big part in my life. But for me, they were a problem. The mark sheets that showed my low performance in school were an indicator of my low focus and dedication towards studies. Due to my low motivation to perform better, I never really bothered about them. This lack of focus was also hurting my health. Because I had drive for nothing, this lowered my overall will to achieve anything or better my life situations.
But there comes a time in everyone’s life when they have to face their problems in the eye and get serious. For me, this moment was when the realization hit me that my academics and therefore my dream of a career in management will go nowhere if I did not change myself. So to fix my mistakes, I got disciplined and dedicated myself to studies. And my grades began to improve. This instilled me with confidence in better prospects in life.
To achieve a bigger goal, I set my sight on getting selected into a premier B-school in India. I kept up with the preparation and better myself in various facets of an ideal business student. And it is the result of my dedication and focus, that I am doing my MBA from IIM Kashipur. It is my rejuvenated focus that gets me to go do things out of my comfort zone and keep the drive alive.
