How ABG has impacted my life?
Aditya Birla – The name that has its stronghold. Aditya Birla Group started its humble journey in 1919 as a Jute manufacturing company and gradually moved on to become a US$ 44.3 billion behemoth that provides services in 14 industry sectors such as telecom, chemicals, metals, fashion and retail, payments bank, to name a few. My life is explicitly dependent upon ABG as I relate closely to several of its products. I would really like to mention few of ABG products which have played key roles in my life in the past few years.
Insurance Segment: My first insurance lesson from my father came at an early age and the whole concept was made understood to me by taking the example of Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance. So, for me at such a young age, there was only one insurance firm and that was Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance. Of course, that wasn’t the case but to a small child, indeed it was!
Van Heusen Product Range: I decided to move ahead in my career and I wrote several competitive MBA exams this year. Fortunately, I made it to one of India’s premier B-school (Goa Institute of Management). I still remember the day of my GD-PI process. I was nervous as the risk associated was high. I was wearing a Van Heusen blue colored shirt. I entered the room and the first response that I got was “I like your shirt. Good sense of clothing.” The compliment suddenly boosted my confidence and that really helped me in driving the interview to my favor. It could have been some other shirt from other brand or maybe it wasn’t about my clothes, but the fact that a specific compliment helped me in getting over my nervousness and nail the interview will always remain close to my heart and so does that “Blue Colored Van Heusen Shirt”.
Challenges that I have overcome
Past couple of years have really been tough and they have shown me the true value of grit, family and the importance of someone. In 2016-17 period, when my mother got diagnosed with a chronic disease, my whole world got shattered. It felt like all of a sudden, a huge bubble of problems just split open right in front of me. All I could think was to take the challenges head-on and bring everything back to normal. I made it my personal mission to not only take care of my mother but also get her out of the disease so that she can tease me again with all her talks. A huge responsibility was there to take care of my family business as well and I am thankful to myself that I was able to do that successfully. All that time really helped me in increasing my awareness about LIFE and it really showed me that if you don't give up and take one problem at a time and solve it diligently, there's nothing you can't achieve. That was my sole learning from that experience and I would like to quote -
Jahan chah hai, wahan raah hai. Tum bas date raho, fir dekhna manzil khud chalkar tumhare paas aaegi.
