Who hasn’t heard the name of Aditya Birla Group? After all it is a $50 billion multinational company. Aditya Birla group founded in 1857 has since grown and expanded into 35 countries with over 120000 employees. In a matter of few decades, the company has travelled a success journey, to emerge as a multinational power brand, with strong institutional values and a solid impeccable foundation. Aditya Vikram Birla and Kumar Mangalam Birla’s deep commitment towards the company has led the brand to where it stands today.
The founders had envisioned the company to play a big role in the lives of the people. Standing true to its vision the company today touches the life of millions of people. Aditya Birla to me has been big in not just one but several ways. My home in Lucknow, which is my “Palace of dreams” owes its foundation to Aditya Birla Group’s Ultra-Tech Cement. It is my pillar of strength and gives me hope in times of distress. Not just this, whenever I cross the Bandra-Worli-Sea link, travel via railways, shop at Pantaloons, invest in mutual funds or even buy a health insurance, I am grateful to the company’s contributions. Every year the company aims at recycling more than 65 billion cans and is also working towards making stronger tyres through Birla Carbon. The brand is contributing in all ways to the development of the society, not just socially or financially but also environmentally. Aditya Birla group today stands as an inspiration for me. It gives me hope that “
If you can dream it, you can achieve it!”
Challenges are a part of one’s life. They help you discover your strength and weaknesses. If you are successfully able to overcome the challenges that life throws at you, nothing can stop you from achieving your goals.
I have encountered several challenges in my life but the biggest challenge till date has been to fight depression. Depression shook my self-confidence and engulfed me in a fog of self-pity. It took me a while to understand that, I had to fight it and that I could not let it become my way of life. I surrounded myself with positivity both in terms of people and books. I watched several motivational videos which made me realise that there were a lot of people like me who were fighting this. If they could do this I could do it too. I enrolled myself in a B-school. Although I was initially afraid to express myself or even speak in front of people but with persistent efforts, I finally succeeded. I started meeting new people, participated in various competitions and always took the lead in presentations. Since then there has been no looking back. When I got selected for my summer internship only in my second shortlist, there were no bounds to my happiness. My self-confidence regained. I was also appreciated for my efforts in the company.
This journey has taught me that no matter how many people are supporting you, it is you alone who can fight this. Every day I am motivated to take small steps to move closer to achieving my dreams.
