“Life will keep throwing the stones. And you must keep finding the diamonds.”
Life can be outright difficult sometimes; it can shake you up, it can test your patience however if you are willing enough to face those challenges, confront them, then you are tough enough to win over those challenges.
I belong to a middle-class business family, I was an average student till my high school and never really thought of excelling the academics. This gets continued until the first year of my graduation. Then due to some financial issues, my father was forced to close his well set-up business, and my family was in financial distress. I was spaced out of my mind for a month; I realised complaining never makes anything better but screw up the things more. I decided to support my family and started working since 16. I began to work hard on my studies and became more mature. Hard work paid off, I scored 93 % in my 4th Semester and scored perfect 100 in 2 subjects. I learnt to manage and prioritise things. I worked 4-5 hours a day and managed to take out time for studies. This made me persistent. Things improved eventually, I learnt that “might not be tonight, tomorrow or next day, but everything is going to be okay.”
I got a golden opportunity to work as Audit Associate in EY (getting into Big 4’s was a dream come true for me) I learnt a lot of things from my work experience, but later figured it out that I wanted to pursue MBA to shape my career further. It was again a very challenging task to prepare for CAT with a 12-13 hours hectic Job and 5 hours of travelling daily “But every obstacle can be an opportunity”. I took this up as a challenge and started preparing for CAT, reduced my sleeping hours from 7 hours to 4 hours, started studying on weekends for 10 hours a day and with my constant efforts, finally I made it to the “SUNRISE IIM”. I learnt that dreams could come true if we dare to pursue them.
