1. Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
The roots of the Aditya Birla Group, operating in 35 countries, dates back to 1857, wherein a couple of decades later, Birla philanthropy began when the family donated 1,00,000 rupees for setting up of goshala in Kolkata. From immunizing children against polio to being textiles-to-telecom conglomerate, ABG has pioneered and touched almost everyone’s life.
When I was in 10
thclass, I still remember just after my CBSE board exam’s got over my parents surprised me by gifting a new phone. I was really excited to get my first one but then I got stuck with a decision to make, which service provider to choose. Getting a network connection to your new phone can be super exciting for a child who has never owned one before but being a school student I was really concerned about the calling plans, as I didn’t have much to spend out. Then after days of research I was able to choose my first network provider. Yes, my very first network provider was Idea, it was a connect, an emotion that helped me connect to people around me. Be it calling or waiting for a text message at that times it was really something that gave joy.
Later stages in life, having done shopping from brands like Pantaloons, Peter England, Louis Philippe gave me new style, confidence, excitement and especially happiness to carry along. ABG has impacted my life by providing joy in small moments.
2. How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far.
I have been a below average student throughout my academic life till my graduation first semester wherein my GPA was as low as 5.19. It took a lot to accept my weaknesses and then I took it as a challenge to work upon them. Simultaneously, I joined college's BAJA team, which builds off-road vehicle wherein I worked as vehicle dynamics engineer for 18 months, participating in competitions both at International and National level.
Managing and excelling in both academics and team’s work called to extra efforts and time management. Later, I graduated with a decent CGPA of 8.2 and also with a research paper in my final semester and yes with a great set of learning experiences with me.
After my graduation, entering a reputed B-school became my my short term goal and that was to cater my long term goal of Entrepreneurship. Rigorously preparing for CAT was quite challenging amid the pressure of taking a drop year and studying while staying at home. As I achieved my short term goal which I created, by getting admission in IIM Kashipur and now I plan to move towards my long term goal.
For me, not a specific incident but the entire journey was exhilarating and served as both challenging and a long road that paved way towards a band of small achievements for me.
