Part A
Since the time I first watched the James Bond movie ‘Goldeneye’ and the subsequent Bond movies, I have always been fascinated by crisp, well-stitched suits. I believe that no piece of clothing can bring about a powerful change in a person’s personality other than a bespoke suit and I love the idea of suiting up for an occasion, looking groomed and dapper in a suit that is made to complement my personality and style. Although the brands showcased in James Bond are way beyond my reach, one brand has brought that dream of mine to realization and that is ‘Louis Philippe’ by the Aditya Birla Group. I simply love walking through a Louis Philippe boutique store or the Louis Philippe section in a supermarket like ‘Lifestyle’ or ‘Shoppers Stop’, marveling at the line up of suits on display. I often try on the suits, especially the darker shades since I have an affinity towards them. They instantly make me feel confident about myself and makes me believe that I can achieve anything. Another brand that I have always looked up to is ‘Peter England’ because that is one brand that my Father always wore to work. I loved the professionalism he brought to his persona by wearing Peter England, the fit and the colours were impeccable. I have always dreamed of pairing a Louis Philippe suit with a Peter England shirt to bring out the inner businessman in me and I am going to ensure that that will be my ‘Power’ suit combo when I join my future combination.
Part B
I have always been a staunch believer of hard-work, there is substitute to it. Smart work can only get you so far in life, but you have to get down and dirty at some point in life and that is exactly the kind of outlook I have had towards any problem I have faced. That is not to say that I have never faced lows in life, there have been days when I have felt under confident about my own skills and there have been sleepless nights mired in fear of failure. But at the end of the day it’s always been hard work and dedication that has gotten me through the toughest of situations. Work keeps me focused, I am a practical learner, I learn by doing things. I can lose track of time as well as my surroundings when I am deep into a task. Although, I sometimes tend to lose track of the bigger picture, I like to give out a quality submission as it is a reflection of my work ethic and credibility. A few milestones stand out, such as my board exams, last minute assignments during graduation, the pressure of placements, and by far the most challenging, my tenure in the IT industry. There have been days when clients have demanded last minute revisions in projects, maintenance downtime that exceeded their approved deadlines but I have always been able to get through them thanks thick-headed dedication to sticking until the end.
