Aditya Birla Group: Contribution in my life_SCMHRD
Aditya Birla Group is one of the largest Indian conglomerates operating in 35 countries. It was founded by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla and currently headed by Kumar Mangalam Birla . They have an employee strength of 120000 worldwide.
Products and industries of ABG:
ABG has its presence in a lot of business markets. Aditya Birla group is the industry leader in India in cement. It also has interests in viscose staple fibre, filament yarn, branded apparel, carbon black, chemicals, fertilisers, insulators, financial services, telecom, BPO and IT services.
Contribution of ABG group in my life:
I hail from Kolkata. G.D Birla, who took Birla group to new heights, had actually started his business from Kolkata only. ABG has a great influence and contribution in Kolkata. The “
Yellow Taxi” Ambassador which is synonymous with Kolkata even today was manufactured by Hindustan Motors which was started by G.D.BIRLA. The
Birla Temple, BIRLA Planetarium and
Birla Institute and Technological Museum are places which I frequently visited with family and friends. They have a special place in my heart as I have many childhood memories associated with these places.
Ultratech Cement: In Kolkata, we have our own 2-storied house. During construction as well as to renovate the house, we used Ultratech Cement which is also the leading cement brand in the country.
Pantaloons: I am a shopaholic and for people like me, Pantaloons is the one-stop shop where we can get amazing clothes from different brands at the best prices. During Puja, Diwali, New year and all other festivals, I take my family to Pantaloons. It provides the unique opportunity to get all the latest trendy clothes under one umbrella and also at great discounts.
Connection with Symbiosis: I am currently studying in SCMHRD MBA BA batch (2019-21). ABG has provided great career opportunities for SCMHRD students; be it through summer internships or final placements. It will be a great dream come true for me if I am able to join ABG.
