PART A:
Aditya Birla Group is a name present in every walk of our life affecting it by providing things ranging from fertilizers for food to cement for houses, from copper for railways to aluminum for cover glass of smartphones, form various fashion outlets to telecom giant Vodafone-Idea.
To wear clothes is a ‘need’ but to wear a particular brand is ‘want’, and this is where Aditya Birla group has played and continues to play an important part in my life. From providing cost-effective casuals and formals in Peter England to exclusive suits in Louis Philippe, ABG has been with me on every occasion. Not only fashion, but it also changed the way and cost of communication with its brilliant, cost-effective and people-centric plans in telecommunication. At present it covers 92% of the Indian population, providing them with the ability to connect with their loved ones. At the same time I can never overlook the indirect yet special contributions of ABG in my life in multiple ways like aluminum foil and cover glass of smartphones from Hindalco Industries, their fertilizers that protect the crops, and their many other contributions.
Aditya Birla Group is a success story who has fulfilled its mission of providing superior value to customers, shareholders, employees, and society as a whole. Its contribution to the life of Indians cannot be estimated. To conclude, it has not only played a big role in my life but has influenced Indian society by being a part of their life and nourishing them, directly and indirectly.
PART B:
A man learns and grows with each obstacle that he faces in his life. He cannot help others or solve their problems unless he has the ability to solve the problems that he encounters in his own life. He must overcome the little obstacles that come in his way to be eligible to face bigger challenges. Life of an MBA graduate is expected to be filled with such challenges and I encountered my first in the days leading to the entrance exam.
In the first week of October, the index finger of my right hand got fractured. CAT was scheduled in 7 weeks and my semester exams were to begin in 6 weeks. With such little time to recover and then be able to attempt both the exams to my full potential appeared an impossible task at first. But after the initial jitters, I calmed down and began strategizing to avail maximum benefits that I could in the coming weeks. I prepared Verbal Ability during the initial 2 weeks in which I was unable to write, and then switched to Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and ultimately to Quantitative Aptitude in 4 weeks and practiced it alongside my preparation for the semester exams. Due to lack of time, I emphasized on attempting as many mock tests as I could as they provided extensive coverage of the entire syllabus.
In this way, I was able to fulfill my goal of studying at an IIM, despite having a broken finger. So, life is not about going with the flow, it’s about rowing against the current to meet your destination and to fulfill your goals
