From Kara face wipes which in now owned by Future group to Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual fund I have used many of the Aditya Birla Group’s products. In many ways I have seen it grow bigger. For example, Hindalco it ranks among the top 5 global aluminum majors it’s share price was at Rs.52 in 2000 and now it is priced 4 times more. The group's firm Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd sells in-house brands such as Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England and People which were top choices for formals clothing but are now offering casuals too. With Idea and Vodafone merger they have acquired 31% market share in telecom industry. Ultratech cement in India’s number 1 cement brand and is holding that position for a long time now.
Few years back I did a project on the marketing of Fiber division of Birla cellulose, Vadodara. At that time, they were facing problems from competitors and their fiber sales were going down day by day. This was due to obsolete machineries and the quality of pulp produced. To tackle all these problems Birla Cellulose launched the Liva brand, an innovative concept that offered 'Natural Fluid Fashion' in 2015. Birla Cellulose fiber came on spotlight again with introducing viscose staple fiber among customers for the first time with this brand.
The logo represents the rising sun which illuminates the lives of everyone that its light touches. The sun of Aditya Birla Group would keep on rising and will continue to influence everyone in the future.
