I am an electronics engineer and post completion of my graduation, I became a part of the ABG family when I joined Idea Cellular Limited as Engineer Trainee. This was my first job and believe me, there could not be a better start into the industry.
The six weeks of induction and training were very efficiently planned and no opportunity was missed to make us, the new joinees, feel special. There was a lot of emphasis on the group’s core values of Integrity, Commitment, Passion, Seamlessness, and Speed. Several sessions were held at regular intervals for developing my interpersonal skills and also intrapersonal introspection. It slowly evolved me into the transition from college to corporate and imbibed in me the competency to perform better involving my technical expertise.
ABG also has carved a niche for itself in different sectors with the likes of Ultratech Cement, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, Louis Philippe, and Pantaloons. As a part of the engagement program, I got an opportunity to visit an Ultra-tech cement factory, where I learned the basics of cement manufacturing. The trainer there greatly emphasized on safety measures and also elaborated on the hazardous results of missing any of them. It also taught me that a simple act of carelessness can put many lives at stake.
On behalf of my experience, I can surely say that the association with ABG has added significant value to my personality and with the kind of diverse domains Aditya Birla Group operates in, it surely touches lots of lives, in India and globally holding on to “Adding Value. Adding Purpose. Always Big in Life”
“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”
I am very adaptive and easily get along with any situation very soon. I am an electronic engineer and was working with a private company on the roles of Transmission Planning Engineer. I wanted to do my post-graduation in management from a reputed business school. However, fate had it that the company I was working in had recently undergone through a merger and there was huge pressure of work that followed up the merger process.
I had to perform well there in the organisation as well as prepare for CAT and other exams. I was lingering between working late-night at office to early morning preparations for CAT. The hectic schedule really tested my persistence but I followed the schedule with utmost discipline.
Finally all my hard work and perseverance paid off and I secured admission in IIM Trichy. Those sleepless nights taught me that there is no shortcut to success and the efforts that you put in to achieve your goal never go in vain. It is just that the benefit might be delayed at times but you surely reap the rewards.
