Part A
What comes in your mind when you think of Aditya Birla Group? Is it Birla sun life Insurance, India’s largest telecom giant Vodafone-idea, UltraTech Cement, Grasim, Pantaloons etc. and what not. I believe all would remember at least one thing “what an idea sir ji” the famous tagline. There is a lot about Birla’s Group, they influence people’s life not only in India but in 35 other countries where they are present.
How can you forget about BITs which is ranked at par with IIT’s and is a dream of every student who aspire to be an Engineer. They also had Ambassador (King of Indian Roads) in their kitty which was like everyone’s car and people took pride in owning it. Still many parliamentary dignitary rides in this car and still is nations pride. Vodafone Idea on the other hand has 31 % market share and 394.8 million subscribers in India that means every third user is Idea’s. Hindalco’s aluminum is used in Automotive product, defense, electricals, construction to name a few.
While talking about its oldest business of textile, they have wide range of brands like Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Peter England, Pantaloons etc. They have found presence across India and with over 11,000 points of sale, which include close to 2,500 exclusive ABFRL brand outlets across 750+ cities and towns, 4,900+ multi-brand outlets and 4000+ department stores across the country.
UltraTech Cement is the largest cement manufacturer of cement in India having installed capacity of 111 MT out of 465 MT in India, be it grey or white cement or concrete they will give you solutions. Apart from this you significantly contributed to life of millions of people by participating in Government schemes such as MGNERGA, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna, Rural Livelihood Mission, National Rural Drinking Water Program. Through all these they might not have affected me directly but have contributed significantly to the nation and to the individuals in the end.
Finally, I would like to conclude by saying that Aditya Birla group has contributed significantly in my life and I don’t see its contribution getting decreased. My families first preference in textile Peter England, trust in UltraTech Cement that we used when we constructed our first house. All these are beautiful memories which this group has given me and my family and I don’t see it fading anytime soon.
Part B
"If your first instinct is to run away from failures, then perhaps you’re doing it the wrong way! This is Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla's mantra to deal with failures.”
“Failure is not Fatal, Failure is inevitable. If you don’t fail, it perhaps means you are not taking enough risks. Quoted by Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla”
Challenges are the part and parcel of one’s life, you are bound to face the hard & cruel challenges of the world but isn’t that the beauty of our life. Life has everything from fun, adventure, sorrow to happiness and that’s the exciting part isn’t it? it is not monotonous, and every morning brings a new day in our life. Someone has said it right it’s not about the destination it’s about the journey and the new mates we found during this journey.
My journey went upside down when I was preparing for my IIT Exams, I had board exams in a month and along with that I had to complete my last month preparations for IIT Exams. But such was my fate that I was diagnosed with Urticaria, its an allergic reaction that occurred, as far as I know it happened because I ate un-boiled eggs and it caused a skin reaction. The situation got worse and it affected me so much that it could have killed me but by the Grace of God I survived but i end up not giving my boards nor my IIT entrance test.
I went into depression and was seriously affected by such an incidence happening in my life I was not sure how to overcome it, what to do next but my parents were there with me, they constantly supported me and always told me this is not the end of the world. Sun will Shine again and tomorrow morning when you wake up, wake up with a new motivation and zeal which has become my motto in life. In the end things din went the way I wanted but I am happy that I overcame all this and completed my B-Tech with flying colors and joined IMI for MBA. And now I have an ambition to join a MNC like Aditya Birla and become a renowned person in the field I choose to be in.
My aim in life was to become an engineer from IIT but it did not go as planned but its not the end of the world I have found new motivation, new challenges and new mates which has happened in a much better way then I imagined.
