The biggest challenge I had to face was between my interest and passion. I pursued my undergrad in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University and my postgrad in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from University of Leicester, UK. I based my academic journey on my capacity and on my area of interest. I was a keen learner and has successfully applied its concepts at various levels. My Master of Science Dissertation was well appreciated by my Project Guide for the various aspects I had explored on and for its originality.
I have always been passionate about teaching and I have taken various initiatives wherever possible during my student life. I strongly support the idea that we need more resources in the field of teaching as it is going to be the cornerstone on which development can be made in the most constructive manner. Teaching is no more a simple profession that handles with textbooks and class works but it has evolved into a primary life skill that empowers both the contributor and the learner.
I had to face my biggest challenge when I decided to shift my profession from industry to academia. I faced lots of criticism and backlash for making such a move. I experienced the stigma associated with teaching on a firsthand basis and it fueled me to work the extra mile to break all barriers and Victorian ideologies. I am proud to say that I have completed four years in academia and I have been instrumental in shaping the lives of my many students.
ABG : How big is it in my life ? #IIM Trichy
Aditya Birla Group is truly an Indian multinational premier business conglomerate that is spread across 34 counties all around the globe. The Group is in the league of Fortune 500 Companies and boasts a substantial market presence in multiple domains. Incorporated in 1857, ABG has established itself in large scale presence in numerous domains like fashion and retail, cement, telecom and wealth management to name a few.
The portfolio of ABG is so wide spread that not a day goes by where we aren’t benefited by the products or services offered by the company. I’ve always been a big fan of fashion and brands. ABG with its varied assets in an endless list like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, Pantaloons and so on just to name a few has been my go-to place for shopping.
Being someone from academia, I had to present myself in the most appropriate manner which adds value to the content that I deliver. Shirts and trousers from brands like Allen Solly and Peter England have made me an unwavering customer for ABG over the past couple of years. The nature of fabric and the richness in color has always been an added value of their products. The formal business wear collection from Louis Philippe and Van Heusen are top of the line products and I am a proud owner of a couple of them.
The role of Aditya Birla Group in the life of general public is enormous and AGB continues to positively drive the consumer market in our economy. The highest business standards that ABG displays in its products and services is itself a success story worth mentioning.
