Today when I sat down to think about Aditya Birla Group, I realized that it has almost been like this unnoticed father figure in life that we take for granted because it’s always there to care for our needs.
I have noticed that I always relied on this company for my life’s needs. Even in the direst of situations, when I will no longer breathe life for my family I know that it is this conglomerate that will take care of them with my
Birla Sun Life Insurance.
The way I look at it, I have three basic requirements in life
My Urban Dwelling: That was constructed with
Ultratech cement. I remember helping my dad make this choice for the construction of our house as it was the clear winner in the cost to strength ratio and people's reviews
My Connection to the world:
Idea cellular. When I took my first mobile internet connection I didn't have much of a doubt on which one to take as the ‘get an IDEA’ and ‘An IDEA can change your life’ add campaigns have implanted the 'IDEA' as my service provider
My Identity: Most of all my favorite brands that I buy to dress myself up like
Louis Philippe, Peter England & Allen Solly are produced by them. I remember once as a kid, when I always used to pass by a Peter England store and think about how amazing the store looked and how beautiful the apparels were. Eventually one day I was able to go to the store and buy some clothes for myself and that simple act of just going and buying clothes became an occasion for me. Wearing those clothes from Peter England made me feel special, it made me feel like I was someone who mattered. That feeling, that sense of grandiose that I got from the brand is something which I believe is present in all Aditya Birla products
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life?
Determination, Perseverance, Hard Work & Acceptance
I have never been someone who was exceptionally talented at anything. But, I have always been someone who fought exceptionally well for my ambitions. The ‘strength of will’ to work for what I want has been my constant companion that fueled my ability to power through any obstacles & not give up on things I deem important for the road to success.
Back in school, the overarching requirement was always to be No.1 in studies. But, I never was the smartest person or the quickest to come up with solutions. So, I would always fall back onto my constant (Strength of will) to push me. I put in those extra hours so I could maintain parity with the smartest of people, inculcate the habit of problem solving which eventually helped me to be quick on my feet and maintain my composure when a problem does arise.
Fast forwarding to work, during our training I topped in statistics & was put in a team with all top scorers on a pilot project. But, I failed in the first training evaluation of ‘R’. This incident taught me that it was completely okay to fail, as long as we learn something from it and use that failure as a stepping stone to reach even greater heights. I did eventually clear the test on top but also went on to lead a team that specialized in ‘R’. Again, the same formula of strength of will combined with perseverance & hard work paid off.
