Being a Bengali, Durga Puja is always very core to our heart. During Puja we used to go for shopping along with family to the city. I remember we used to go to Peter England store for my father’s clothing and then we used to go to Pantaloons for me and my sister’s clothing. Till now when it comes to do some quick shopping, Pantaloons tops my list. As I am from a small town, Kirana stores were the only medium to buy groceries. I remember on 2007, the first departmental store ‘MORE’ was opened in our town. We were very excited to shop from MORE because that was a different experience to shop from an AC store where we can pick the items from the shelves by ourselves. MORE brought every necessary items under a single roof. We were there to buy from groceries to ice creams. After that Since College, for buying formal wears Allen Solly and Van Heusen always top my list. In case of clothing, it has always topped in the category of comfort. I also remember Idea was the connection for my very first Mobile phone. Aditya Birla Group has always been present in my life in every stage and it was always a very nice experience to be associated with such brands.
Life is always full of challenges which make us stronger for the upcoming ones.
I am born and brought up in a small town near Kolkata in a nuclear Bengali family. My schooling and under graduation happened in Kolkata only. After spending 21 years of my life in a same city, the first time I left my home was for MBA. On one hand I was very happy to start a new journey, on the other hand I was scared about thinking of staying alone in a city which is thousands of kilometers away from my home. The starting was not easy. Self-management for first few months was being very difficult for me. All the people around me was completely unknown to me. I did not know a single person in the city. I was too much centered with the thought of living away from comfort zone but one thing I knew that I have to adjust everything and have to focus on the reason why I am here. I did put a lot of effort to grab a place in one of the Premier B School in the Country and finally when I am there, I understood I cannot put everything in vain for my insecurity. Now it has been one year I am in Mumbai and now I don’t feel an outsider here. I realized we need to be patient if we want something to make work in our life. Difficulties will come but to make that difficulty an opportunity we need to find out ways patiently to make our life better. The journey was not easy but I could not lose hope because I knew at the end of the tunnel there would be light.
