One brand that was directly related to my life is Idea cellular. Idea Cellular was started as a joint venture with the
AT&T and the
Tata Group. After an
IPO on the Indian stock markets, Idea Cellular now accounts for a third of the group's market capitalization. The company is headquartered in Mumbai. On 31 August 2018 Idea Cellular completed its merger with Vodafone India and thereby became largest telecom company in terms of subscribers and revenue, surpassing Airtel.
I remember going to college with a brand new phone and a sim. Adjustment without family was difficult. The only point of contact with my family was my sim which was not working due to signal issues. No other sim was working as the area I was living in was a remote one. My parents on the other side were worried too as I was out for the first time in my life and they were not really confident about how I was going to manage on my own. I was really disturbed because of a sudden change in my life and went home on Independence Day which was just 15 days away from the day I joined my college. We went to meet my school senior who was also my college senior and told her about my issue. She instantly said that she had faced the same issue and then she went for Idea cellular which was probably the only sim that had good signals and even the internet worked fine.
My father and I went to buy idea cellular sim. The service was pretty good and the sim got activated within 4 hours of buying.
I went back to the college and was pretty satisfied by the services that were available and my problem got solved. I was really happy and was finally able to adjust in my college. The internet services and plans were so good that I was able to participate in almost all competitions and stood ahead of others. I practiced online mocks and cleared GATE. All because I had a better access to internet than others.
It helped me grow closer to my aim and helped me make my parents proud.
