Aditya Birla Group is big in my life
Aditya Birla Group with its near-ubiquitous market presence with operations in 16 diverse sectors through 47 different brands, it is imperative that it touches millions of people across the world. The brand Birla has been influencing me a lot since I was a student at prestigious BITS Pilani university. Then I have researched about Aditya Birla Group and to my revelation, I came to know that ABG was present in my life all the way starting from the dear house our family built with the trust on UltraTech cement to the most critical telecom network then Idea cellular now Vodafone Idea Limited.
By virtue of employment and education, I have been residing in different cities, but my go-to shopping option for menswear casual has been invariably the Pantaloons, owing to its vast presence across the nation and plethora of new season collections. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited also have brands like Van Heusen, Louise Philippe, Peter England which come to my rescue for formal shopping when I’m on a shoestring budget and time.
Being ‘The Engineer’s choice’ Ultratech proudly associated with some of India’s largest infrastructure projects like Bandra - Worli Sea Link, Mumbai Metro, Bengaluru Metro, and Kolkata Metro are all built on the robustness and high-quality standards of UltraTech Cement.
ABG has been responsible for reaching out to under-served communities and working towards making a meaningful difference to them with focus on Education, healthcare, sustainable livelihood, infrastructure development and espousing social causes. Truly ABG has been big in my life and to the society in contributing to the future.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far
I believe strongly in “We don’t develop courage by being happy every day, we develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity” as quoted by Barbara De Angelis. Having born in a middle-class family where both my parents are teachers, I lead a disciplined life throughout my childhood. After my schooling, it was challenging to cope with the tight schedule of college where I had to manage between multiple subjects, mock tests, and competitive exams. After failing to perform up to the expectations in a couple of national entrance exams, I realized it was high time to concentrate and buckle up for the remaining examinations and pulled myself together to crack my last bet BITS Pilani university. Being a national college, there was a diverse and competent talent pool at BITS, whom I had to compete with. In the first term, my performance was poor owing to underestimating the competition. After that, I started attending all the classes with diligence despite not having compulsory attendance and doing voluntary projects with professors, I gained ample amount of knowledge on the subject which I was graduating in, and the grades got better.
While I was working as a software developer in a healthcare start-up, I realized my interest in business and got interested to do MBA. It was a herculean task to dedicate time for CAT by virtue of the multiple projects I was handling at the company, where I even had to work on weekends often. I used to take out time from sleep and personal activities for giving mock tests and then preparing for interviews. Owing to my hard work and dedication to achieve my ambition, I got an admit in Indian Institute of Management, Raipur and I am ready to take on any challenges that I get in the way to see myself an investment banker.
