Aditya Birla Group in my life Aditya Birla Group- the multinational conglomerate. This is not just another 3-word company, it’s a legacy in itself, a world of its own, a 160-year-old empire. Every 3rd aluminium can being theirs, every 2nd car having their carbon, selling 2 garments every second, being the world’s 2nd largest telecom operator, it is practically just impossible to not have Aditya Birla group’s presence in our life is some or the other way. Aditya Birla has forever been a part of my life, even before I knew what it is. From my clothes to my first sim card to my birthday gifts, Aditya Birla has been in all of it. Telecom: My entire family has been using the same network operator since the start. It is Aditya Birla group that has kept my entire family connected on call via IDEA. Clothing: Our favourite shopping destination for clothes: Pantaloons. One of the most famous and reliable outlets for rich quality clothing at an affordable price. With more than 17 brands including Van Heusen, Peter England, Allen Solly under Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) all our formals as well as casual clothes have been bought from one of these brands. Freshwrapp: It is a little-known fact that it has been Aditya Birla Group all these years behind us getting fresh food every time we open our tiffins. Who hasn’t used Freshwrapp? I just cannot think of any tiffin not having packaging foil in it. These are only some of the highlights where Aditya Birla Has made a presence in our life, making it better without us even knowing.

The Challenge Many like to think of challenges as obstacles and hurdles in their path to success. I beg to differ. For me challenges are nothing but a more enhanced and practical way of learning in the course of my way to success. It is these challenges and moreover how we overcome and adapt to these challenges that define who we are as a person/ student/ human being. One such learning came during my ongoing MBA journey: CAT. 23-year-old me had gone all in during the entrance exam’s preparation. By all in I mean I had resigned from my job to focus on the preparation. There was no scope for ‘WHAT IF?’, it was this time or never as it had already been 3 years since my graduation and I all my savings were already invested in this. With my preparation taking pace, soon came the D day- 25th November, 2018. 1 hour into the exam and had already realized that I bottled it, that I blew the only shot I had of getting admission into a premier B school. That was the day I hit rock bottom, not knowing what to do next. It felt as if I had not only failed myself but my entire family who were so positive and hopeful during the entire time. What this situation taught me was that one should always have a plan B ready. Well, it turned out that I had many- SNAP, NMAT, CMAT, CET. The rule was simple- improvise, adapt, overcome. What this means is I had to just not repeat the same mistake again. Work, focus, a bit more dedication, practice, patience and the most important i.e. a positive attitude was all I had during these examinations. A few months later my CMAT result was out. CAT-68 percentile, CMAT-99 percentile. From losing all hope of doing MBA from a good college to getting calls and converting all the colleges I had applied to; the difference was clear. Had I given up after the first entrance itself I would never have ended up at where I am today- Goa Institute of Management.
