“An artful blending of many colors, many worlds, coming together with one aim – to reach for the sun” – This is how Aditya Birla Group a multinational conglomerate with a range of businesses across the world describe themselves.
“Great businesses are never built on the quick sands of opportunism. I reiterate that, if living by our values means, perhaps growing at a pace slower than we would otherwise have liked, so be it. For us, leadership lies at the heart of knowing what we stand for.” The words of Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of Aditya Birla Group is really inspiring.
Aditya Birla Group had its roots in India well before independence with its foundation being laid by Shiv Narayan Birla in 1857 at Pilani, Rajasthan with a cotton mill. Soon they started expanding their business to textile and fibres, aluminium, cement and chemicals. It is inevitable that we have used one or the other products by this company, be it clothes, aluminium products, tyre, cement etc.
Aditya Birla Group is definitely big in my life. Their touch starts from my very house which was built using Ultra Tech cement. As I dive into the various areas of my life be it gifting a Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Peter England or a Van Heusen shirt to my father, brother or a friend, or shopping with my friends going through the Pantaloons collections, its amazing to reminisce of the reach a business group can have on a person’s life.
Then there is the cars which won’t move unless there is tyres with Birla carbon nanoparticles. Morever, our Indian Railway depends so much on Birla copper. The very smartphones which we never get out of our sight may have the cover glass made of Hindalco aluminium.
While the list seems non ending, it surely states the obvious – Aditya Birla Group is an imperative part of Indian history as well as each of our lives.
