There are certain necessities without which humans cannot sustain on this planet. Food, Water, Housing, Electricity, Clothing, Commute, and Communication to name a few. For Food, we need fertilizers and Aditya Birla Group (ABG) created Grasim industries, its flagship company. Similarly, for housing one requires cement, ABG created UltraTech Cement limited. ABG has also set up Aditya Birla Science and Technology Company Private Limited, its global corporate R&D hub, whose core offerings include work in the area of energy conservation, freshwater treatment, and wastewater treatment. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited allowed Indians to live a comfortable and stylish living by offering tens of thousands of clothing options from over 15 plus international brands. For making the commute easier, safer and smoother, ABG fulfills a large share of the Copper requirement of Indian Railways through Birla Copper Limited. Also, safer Road transport is made possible by catering to many tire industries by making efficient use of Carbon with the help of Birla Carbon. And, finally helping an individual to connect with the outside world by making the biggest merger in the telecom sector possible, Vodafone Idea Limited.
The above is a very small list of many businesses that Aditya Birla Group is involved in. They are active in 14 Industry sectors with over 50 plus brands spanning globally in 32 countries. They play a critical role in helping an individual like me to lead a healthy, safe, comfortable and successful life.
I lost my father when I was not even 6 months old. My family consisted of 4 members including my grandparents, mother, and myself. My grandfather was a retired sales tax officer and his pension supported our family. I was in the second year of graduation when he passed away. This caused financial trouble in my family. To support my family and my education, I started a mess by borrowing Rs. 50,000/- and the idea was to cater to a community of students with daily meals. We provided unlimited food for only Rs. 50/- per meal. I ensured a balance between my studies and managing my work. All throughout my journey, I had a strong desire to wear branded clothes and mostly ABG’s brand fascinated me the most. But because of weak financial conditions, it only looked like a dream to me. But my venture helped me to support my family, my education and adopt a comfortable and stylish life.
This is a pleasure to know that there is an Indian company which cares about it's country’s citizen. Also, the company is helping to reach the dream of a nation to be developed with innovation and adding to the country’s growth by supporting individuals and businesses at each step of their journey.
