The most prominent thing that strikes me when I hear or see Aditya Birla Group’s logo is Idea Cellular Ltd. It was the first ever brand of the multinational conglomerate that I interacted with. I still remember when I got my first mobile phone, I chose the Idea network. It’s been about 9 years now and till date, I cannot imagine using any network, other than Idea’s. I still vividly remember the captivating Idea advertisements, be it Abhishek Bachchan’s “What an Idea, Sirji” campaign, the campaign with the “Honey Bunny” song or the very recent #MeriRealLife campaign. Owing to these factors, Idea has always stood out to me.
Aditya Birla Group has impacted almost every aspect of my life, especially Fashion. Pantaloons, People, and VanHeusen are my go-to brands for all my fashion requirements.
Who doesn’t love a brand that is not just about profits but also cares about the society they operate in? The thing that I admire the most about Aditya Birla Group is the positive impact that the group is creating through its CSR activities. The Aditya Birla Group transcends conventional barriers of business since they care deeply about their community and they believe it is their duty to facilitate inclusive growth. For more than 50 years now, the group has engaged in impactful, welfare-driven activities in India and Globally. They have positively impacted the lives of more than 7.5 Million people through numerous activities related to HealthCare & Immunisation, Power Generation, Employment and Nutritious Meals. The group actively focuses on, building a better, sustainable way of life for the weaker sections of society and raise the country's human development index. This philanthropic vision of Aditya Birla Group aligns with my person philosophies. Therefore, I hold a high regard towards the brand.
I used to believe that I know a lot of things but I am not good at any of them. An average person at everything, be it studies, sports, intellect, or graphic design software. Wherever I go thinking that I will use my skills here, there’s always someone else who is just better at it. I have always tried to find a place for myself, trying to fit in, but I never could. I just wanted to be some place where I could use some or all of my skills. And I found just the right opportunity when I was thinking about pursuing an MBA. And advertisements like the ones mentioned above motivated me to pursue a career in marketing. But, before that, I had to cross one more hurdle, that was CAT. I, for one, never thought that I could score more than 50 % ile in CAT. As a person who gets anxiety attacks whenever the exams are near, could never crack the CAT.
But I am very fortunate that I’ve got such an amazing family and a great bunch of friends, who believed in me. They made me enroll in a CAT coaching center and motivated me to pursue CAT. Never in my life had I seen such fierce competition, everyone just competing with each other to get ahead. Sometimes, I used to sit in the library for hours solving and resolving every question on the practice sheet. But the situation got better the more I practiced. And on the D-Day, when I appeared for CAT, I was so sure that I am going to perform horribly bad, but, as I started solving the questions everything went so perfectly, I could recall most of the concepts and formulas and everything. And that day I finally learned something that we've been taught since childhood, "Hardwork is the key to Success". It definitely led me to this amazing college.
