Aditya Birla group is one of the premier conglomerates in the world worth the US $44.03 billion. It is active in 14 industry sectors, it occupies the pole position in which it operates – metals, cement, carbon black, specialty chemicals, viscose staple fiber, viscose filament yarn, acrylic fiber, textiles, telecom, financial services, retail, branded apparel, natural resources, agri-solutions, power ,and trading. Its products and services touch every person’s life uniquely.
Aditya Birla transcends the conventional business barrier as it believes and works towards the inclusive growth of society. In the 1940s when the only objective of business was to make money, GD Birla coined the concept of trusteeship of management means investing part of a profit on society for a larger good. This legacy is carried on by his successors and is closely guarded. ABG is not focusing on the growth of one aspect of society, they have made efforts to enrich every field they can, from villages to sustainable development to the girl child to immunization of children and a lot more. They have always understood their responsibility towards society and its people.
Aditya Birla group has impacted the lives of people in innumerable ways.
Fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life…, good clothes not only make you look nice, but also give one the confidence to carry themselves. Till 2000’s, when we talked about the fashion choice for women it was always saree or suits, even for office purposes they had the same choice. Then came ABG with its acquired fashion retail, Allen-Solly which revolutionized the Indian formal attire, especially for women. Allen Solly became the first Indian brand to introduce formal wear for women. Its tagline -
MY WORLD, MY WAY transformed the way corporate women dress. A big part of my journey at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade started with ABG as I suited up in Allen Solly for my first day of college. My clothes have always been part of self-expression and ALLEN SOLLY have given a personality and confident attire to corporate world.
The lesson that I imbibed from Aditya Birla Group is transformation is a key element to be practiced in life. It turns aspiration into reality, setbacks into opportunities. It is about the courage of conviction, it is about following your instincts in taking decisions.
“Challenges are what make life interesting. Overcoming them is what makes them meaningful”
The challenge I face while growing up was always to be perfect and correct in every situation, which eventually cannot happen and then it brings agitation, insecurity, lack of compassion and a lot more. It kind of deteriorates the innocence of a person. Later on, I realize that it’s fine to be imperfectly perfect. It brings in the attitude of acceptance towards the situation, people and most important acceptance of your weaknesses. It gives the freedom to love your imperfectly perfect self. I begin to enjoy greater life satisfaction in the process. This change in attitude made me fearless, confident, and less afraid of people which fetch me greater results by taking positive actions in most situations. It is about what Stephen hawking calls, “One of the basic rules of the universe is that nothing is perfect.
" Perfection simply doesn’t exist…Without perfection, neither you nor I would exist.”
