ADITYA BIRLA GROUP in my life:
“They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.”
-Andy Warhol, The Philosophy of Andy Warhol
This is the quote, which came to my mind when I planned to write up an article regarding Aditya Birla group. Directly or indirectly, they are one group who are transforming our lives in many ways. Being a US $44.3 billion and having their foothold in over 14 industry sectors it is of no surprise that it has been an integral part in my life. Having so many associations with their brands, I would like to talk about “Pantaloons” which is really close to my heart. Pantaloons have travelled along with me in all my major successes let it be my first Job or now in IIM Nagpur. Pantaloons groomed me in the right way to project myself as a right candidate in any of the interviews and this association even continued inside Pantaloons on choosing the brands. I usually go with any of Van Heusen, Louis Phillipe and Peter England and recently when I came to know that even these brands are under Aditya Birla Group it left me aghast and then I thought about the quote, which I had mentioned in the beginning, they are the ones who changes things. Talking about changing things it is not just about the Fashion industry, they have brought in revolution in almost all their sectors and have redefined our living standards. In addition, they are the ones who understands our needs and make life easier for us.
Challenges in reaching my ambition:
Life is full of Ups and Downs and my life is no exception. My initial schooling was on the brighter side and I was progressing at the right direction but the journey took lot of turns and I was not able to make it to my dream college. Then I pursued my undergraduation and secured a job in a good company but my goal was to pursue MBA from an IIM. Now the main challenge ahead of me was to march towards my goal and at the same time carve out a niche for myself in the new job. With this thing in my mind, I worked hard and gave CAT in 2016 but I failed very badly. Subsequently I appeared for CAT 2017 and this time I failed better than the last time. People around me were suggesting that CAT was not my cup of tea and I should concentrate on my work but I chose my path, worked even harder, was perseverant and made up my mind to not stop until I reach my destination. With this thought I gave up CAT 2018, secured a good score and finally I landed up in my dream institute. Hard-work,Perseverance and Dedication were my best friends throughout my journey and I believed that there are no shortcuts for Success. When I look back at this entire journey of me landing in IIM Nagpur motivates me to a great extent, pushes my limits further, and it has set the bar for myself higher.
