Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life?
Right from the time I started using a cell phone, I have been a user of the Idea service provider. Idea has been one of the most loved brands in the country. Over a long period of time, Idea has been able to introduce new technologies and ensure a sustainable choice among the customers. With the advent of technologies, the digital and connectivity needs of the customers have been in an upward trend. Despite these challenges, Idea has always been able to fulfill those needs and provide an excellent experience through its products, services, and solutions. The recent merger of Vodafone and Idea has allowed the group to be the leading service provider in India and second largest globally. The merger also brings a lot of opportunities for the two players to serve the customers in a more efficient manner. The greatest strength for the Idea Vodafone entity would be the combined network of cellular towers. This would provide better coverage for the customers. A recent statistic says that with the increased no. of resources, the company would be able to cover 1.2 billion Indians (92% population). The merged entity will have resources to this extent that they can provide digital services which include Voice, Data, Mobile payments, IoT, digital wallets, MIMO and cloud services. Moreover, the Vodafone Idea group is now better positioned to challenge the aggressive pricing strategy of Reliance Jio as well because the end of the day when it comes to the customer, price is the biggest factor which governs their decision in selecting the telecom service provider.
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
Though I was born and brought up in Mumbai, Malayalam being my mother tongue I always struggled in studying the subject of Marathi back during my school days. Having studied in the State board, Marathi was a compulsory subject for us in the Class 10
th board exams. Since I had to learn the language since my Class 5
th, I could understand and read the language, but I struggled when it came to writing answers, essays, etc. wherein I made grammatical errors due to the confusion I had in my mind. One day, when I was studying in my Class 8
th, my Marathi teacher had announced in our class about a “Maharashtra Dnyanpeeth” exam which was conducted by Maratha Mandir to test the writing skills of students in essays, letter writing, summarizing, comprehension skills and grammar. My Marathi teacher had said that she would be taking extra classes after school to teach the concepts in detail which were needed for writing that exam. In order to clear my doubts in grammar and to improve my writing skills, I had applied for the exam and started attending the classes after school. By attending the classes and clearing my doubts combined with regular writing practice, I was able to secure a distinction grade by scoring 93/100 in that exam and stood 3
rd in Maharashtra state. That decision which I had taken to appear for Dnyanpeeth exam and the amount of preparation involved in it helped me not only in the near future by increasing my confidence in learning the subject but also in long run when it helped me in scoring good marks in Marathi when I appeared for my Class 10
th State Board exams.
