Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life?
Aditya Birla Group has touched each of our lives in one way or another. From cement to textile, telecom to fashion, the group has created a mark in every realm. It has created ample job opportunities across the globe. Aditya Birla Group is one of the few conglomerates that has always prioritised the country and its citizens before its profits.
Since its presence is into every sphere, it has been a part of my life at some point or the other. Be it my first formal wear from Van Heusen or a shirt from Louis Phillipe which I bought for my dad from my first salary. The first formal wear that I bought from Van Heusen gave me the comfort and confidence that I needed to face my interviews during my graduation placement. There is a saying that ‘Clothes make the man’ and the ABGL helped my conversion from a boy to a grown adult through its clothes division and influencing my personality.
The ABGL group is the third largest conglomerate in India and will continue to grow as it has since it’s foundation in 1857.
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
Life is like a sine graph with its ups and downs, it will always throw new challenges your way and these are the experiences that make a person grow. I have been living away from home for about 8 years now and I have a very large friend circle. I used to think I am good at public speaking as I had given a lot of presentations in my class and anchored events during cultural feasts at college. I faced reality on my convocation day in college when I had to address a large audience including the director of my university and a lot of influential people. It scared me to the bone, my hands were shaking and legs were trembling when I was on the stage. At that moment I realized that if I don’t do it now, I will always have this fear and will not be able to overcome it ever and it will hinder my ambitions of being a high-level corporate big wig. I gathered my courage and completed my address and at that moment when I said the final words of my address and heard the applause, I felt like I have achieved something.
That small moment of courage gave me the confidence to join my job where I worked with different teams and gave many presentations in the meeting room which for some reason always feel like dark and daunting places. Life will not always be rainbows and sunshine, it will have pits and falls. These tough times give us the best lessons and make us a better version of ourselves. These days I always keep an “I can” attitude and dive headfirst toward any opportunity that comes towards me.
