Why Aditya Birla is big in my life?
The topmost things I get reminded of when I think of Aditya Birla Group are apparel and my house. Ultratech cement made our dream home come true and my wardrobe is filled with Aditya Birla’s brands. Being a shopaholic, I am very choosy while purchasing apparel. ABGRL caters to the needs of every household by offering a diverse portfolio of products at various price ranges and thereby making them affordable to every household. Among the 20 fashion brands of ABG, I am the user of 10 brands which are my first choice. Nevertheless, every product of ABG has a role to play in every walk of my life. Starting with chemicals segment of ABG, the fertilizers protect crops, fruits, seafood, and their chemicals are used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
Communicating today has become very easy and mobile has become a need of the hour. Rewind to 10 years when telecom was not as much developed as today. Idea cellular was the largest telecom operators which connected people. Tires, financial services and superior quality aluminium by Hindalco of ABG are three other products which are being prominently used by almost every individual. I drive a vehicle manufactured using aluminium from Hindalco, running on Birla’s tires and insured by Aditya Birla Capital Limited. Right from childhood Birla’s have created their place not only in my life but also in my entire family. Each product of the company has been touching our lives at some point in time and are linked either directly or indirectly.
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
Overcoming difficulties and to reach our goals is a race in which everyone around us is a player. I am one of the players in the race aspiring to achieve something big in life. Any situation can turn into a challenge if we think it’s a challenge for us. At every stage of life, there have been various hurdles which I have crossed and reached the current position of being an MBA student. The very first challenge in my life which I remember was during my school days where I had defeated 5 other players in badminton singles. This event gave me immense confidence which has helped in overcoming many small fears.
I am a typical engineer with work experience in the IT industry. My daily life was simple, happy and resembled the routine of any other IT person. I had thought of pursuing higher studies which I wanted to undertake and experience a different field after having worked in IT. Handling my office work and studies seemed to be a bigger challenge for me as I had no prior preparation for any of MBA entrance exams. I had hardly 6 months of time to make it and enter the MBA world or break it and continue with my job. I had to motivate myself and manage several other factors to make the best use of as much time as I can. I devised plans to prepare and started to follow as per the schedule I planned. I was not sure what MBA teaches but during this short period, I felt it’s a great self-training on time management. After all this, I successfully crossed one more milestone in my life which is to get into a B-School.
