Unlike majority of the big corporate companies, whose purpose and goal of doing business lies in the maximisation of profits, there exist business angels & Tycoons like Birla's , Tata's etc whose thoughts centred around the fulfilment of societal needs and giving back to the society.
Not only one but many such incidents associated with my life since childhood actually inspires me to actually live to give back to the society. As the famous saying goes"
Its not necessary to live long. If lived better, its enough to stay alive within hearts forever". Since its inception (1857), Aditya Birla group has not left any stones untouched to fulfill the societal needs.
Belonging from an average middle class poor family, my grandfather used to narrate me stories about his life when he used to work in ABG textile factory and the hardships of those days (1970s), how grandma and my dad with his siblings, used to wait in the evening for grandpa to come home, all eyes filled with hopes and optimism that something in his hand bag will be brought from the factory to cook ( with the daily wage from factory). I have seen the conviction and loyalty in his eyes for the company and his dedication to do anything for the company. The way ABG takes care of the society and its employees is really motivational.
Also recently 6 months before, when my father suffered from a critical heart blockages and needed to undergo open heart surgery, the cost of surgery was huge and unfortunately we did not had the mediclaim to undergo quickly. Soon we came to know about a hospital in Kolkata funded by Aditya Birla Trust, where the heart operations are highly subsidised. The operation was successful and my family is very happy.
In this way, ABG has not only touched a specific phase of my life but keeps on inspiring always to do better and contribute more. I am sure , this is not the case with only myself but with thousands of patriotic Indians.
Keep Serving and inspiring! Hats off ABG!
