How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions
Highs and lows are a part and parcel of life. There are times when we face challenges and need to deal with them. Is there someone who has never faced a challenge?
A major challenge that I faced recently was preparing for an MBA along with a hectic work schedule. I was working in an IT company for the past 21 months. I was also preparing for MBA entrance exams. I used to stay in the office from 10 am to 8 pm. There were times when I had to stay in office beyond 10 pm. Juggling between office and preparation for CAT and balancing the two things at the same time was becoming difficult was becoming very difficult. There were times when I used to feel extremely demotivated and had thoughts in my mind like: “Should I stop working hard?” “What if I don’t get selected?”
As they say, “No obstacle is too big, no dream too great”, I realized that keeping myself motivated is the first task that I had to do. I made sure that I covered at least some topics every day. I would devote extra hours on weekends. I used to study newspaper while traveling in order to utilize time judiciously. I had prepared a time table for myself and used to follow that strictly.
I kept aside my insecurities and focused on my goal of pursuing an MBA. This helped me in overcoming the challenges. “If you want something; all universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”, Paulo Coelho, the Alchemist. No matter how many challenges we face in our journey of life, faith and hard work can make us do wonders.
