Post Graduate Program for Executives – Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing (PGPEX-VLM) is a unique and successful experiment to transform the Indian manufacturing sector. Jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras under the aegis of Ministry of Human resource development (MHRD) and Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), PGPEX-VLM is a one-year full-time residential program with an objective to provide visionary leaders with managerial capabilities to the Indian manufacturing sector. The program was conceived as a flagship program under the India-Japan Technical Cooperation agreement 2006 signed between the Prime Ministers of two countries. One of the distinctive features of the program is the module on ‘Breakthrough Management’ and the ‘Five step discovery process’ conducted by Padmashri Prof. Shoji Shiba, who has been instrumental in starting the PGPEX-VLM program. The Gurukul approach of this module lays the foundation of a change in the mindset of students and helps them transcend from being functional leaders to change leaders.
This program represents a new frontier of excellence in industry-academia partnership and aims to become the shining torch for executive education for years to come.
- The Academic concentration is in Operations and Supply Chain Management, New Business Development, Technology in Business Process Improvement with a special focus on Analytics and Excellence in Operational Practices.
- It is an academically intensive program with highest contact hours (1032+) among all 1 year MBA programs in India with special modules on Break Through Management by World renowned Professor PadmaShri Shoji Shiba.
- The program only admits First Class Engineers from IITs, NITs and other premier engineering varsities across the country with a professional experience lying in the range of 4.5-10 years.
