"Great things never come from comfort zones."
Life is all about taking risks. You never know whats in store for you next. One of the major challenges rather than risk for me was to quit a decent paying job to pursue an MBA after 3.5 years of experience. When I received my admission letter for NMIMS,Bangalore It was a very tough decision for me, since I had to step out of my comfort zone, leave my city , a job which I had my grip on. To add to this my parents were looking for me to get married as everything in my life was perfectly stable and seeing my progress in job. However I was determined and knew that an MBA for me was now or never.I had to stand up against them for my dreams and aspirations. After endless suggestions, advices ,arguments I finally managed to convince my parents. They were also apprehensive at first and burdened by peer pressure but eventually they gave in.
Today here I stand pursuing my 2nd year of PGDM in Finance. The first year of MBA has been a roller coaster ride for me giving me varied exposure not only technically but also in people management skills. Being from an engineering background understanding and maintaining my interest in finance itself had been a challenge for me in the last year. However, I was very focused to continue with the same subject because of my interest leaving my comfort zone besides. This course gave me opportunities to intern with big brands like Bosch and also to network with Corporates through Guest Lectures and Conclaves. It has definitely made me a better version of myself. I can surely say I will not regret this decision and will manage finding opportunities in problems.
