The earthquake which struck Nepal was one of the most challenging moments in my life. Seeing everything turn into rubble and realizing that life could end at any moment scared me out of my wits. With no network, limited supplies and constant aftershocks, it was a horrifying experience. We requested my father to move out of the country for a while, but he refused claiming that he needed to serve the country and its people the same way it served him. This made me realize that there is so much one can do to help those in need, but only if one has the volition and altruism that is missing in today’s world of cut-throat competition and rapacity for profits. I learned to never give up in life no matter how hard the situation is and how important it is to give back to the society and country which has nurtured you into who you are today. It was then that I decided to apply to one of the premier institutions in India.
From a batch strength of 8 in my Alma mater to joining Christ University with a batch strength of 80, initially I was shocked and scared as it was the first time I was moving out of my shell. But soon I realized how important it is to network and have the right peer group for holistic development and the importance of education coupled with encouraging facilities and excellent faculty. My long term objective is to become an entrepreneur and I hope to contribute to my fullest towards the development and progress of the place I call home. This aim kept me motivated to complete my post-graduation from SCMHRD and cross all the hurdles along the way. I believe Self-motivation, dedication, perseverance, a never give up attitude, learning from your failures, the right peer group and an aspiration to be a better Aaryan for a better tomorrow helped me to overcome challenges to achieve my ambitions in life.
