PART B
Life is full of challenges. They may make life hard but overcoming them gives a sense of pride and confidence to strive through others. The challenge started the day I was born. My grandmother always wanted a girl child and taunted my parents because of me. I felt like a victim for no fault of mine. My brother was like a privileged child who enjoyed big birthday parties and the love and affection of my grandmother. I always missed that in my life. I felt as if my parents were suffering because of me. I always had this feeling to create my own identity and get recognition for my parents.
I achieved what I wanted by excelling in my academics. After every parent-teacher meeting in school, appreciation from my teachers filled that void inside. Pride in the eyes of my parents gave me a sense of achievement. I never took academics as some pressure but as an opportunity to prove myself. Slowly, things started to change. But it didn’t happen in a day, in fact, it is still an ongoing process. It’s all about taking one step at a time for overcoming any challenge in life. It will happen a lot of times when things may go wrong at no fault of yours but it is important to take responsibility. It brings freedom and choice to not let yourself get affected by negative situations.
