Coming from a civil engineering background with a techno-marketing work-ex, MBA has been a very new and very great learning experience. The first year of MBA has been an amazing journey and then as a part of my summer internship, I got an opportunity to work at one of the leading companies in the real estate sector, Kalpataru Ltd. Construction has also been a fascination and then this opportunity proved to be a golden one wherein I got to work with the best in the field...to get to know about how they work, what policies do they follow, the technologies that they have adopted, the uniqueness that they provide etc. And I was lucky enough to be a part of the biggest launch by them, yes I got an opportunity to work for their latest launch project which was the biggest in their history. And also we were given a tour of all the ongoing projects in the city as well as the most luxurious ones. Not to forget about the working environment which was always a boost to work with full enthusiasm and do better each day. Be it the seniors, be it the co-interns everybody was so supportive that work became stressfree after a certain point of time. Otherwise, the everyday hassle of travel in a city like Mumbai takes a lot.
And the journey becomes even more interesting when you have a great mentor and I was lucky enough to work under my mentor Mr. Kunal Balsara who was the General Manager Sales of Kalpataru Ltd. whatever I would say about the kind of support he has been for all the interns there would be too less. He not only took care of the fact that every intern is enjoying the work and doing it wholeheartedly but also he made sure that we get to learn something new from each and every activity that we do. He made us work in various multifunctional domains so that our learning doesn't seem stagnant and confined. A man like him at such a high rank in the leading company with such a great experience, we got to learn a lot from him. And coincidentally for my internship, I was interviewed by him only and he tested my knowledge of the industry, the clarity of role, how much will I be able to contribute and above all how eager I was to have this opportunity.
To work at Kalpataru you need to be up-to-date, you will be appreciated for your ideas, your efforts and every time you take an initiative it will be taken into consideration and will be acknowledged.
Overall it was a great journey of two months whatever I had learnt in the first year of my MBA these two months really helped me in applying it practically and also adding on a lot to it.
