Part A
The name Aditya Birla Group is known to almost everyone. If not the name one has used or come across their product at some point in their life. In over 150 years, this conglomerate entered varied industries and tried to make their mark. Their fashion house Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited which started in 1988 is the one I was most aware of among all its businesses. I have been using their products since years. The thing I like about this business is the kind of variety in products they offer. Clothes build part of your confidence and we have all felt this confidence sometime or the other in our life. Their large range of services helps us choose our comfort and confidence. They bring something for everyone no matter their gender, age or background. Their reach is everywhere and they are making a difference along the way. The range they offer varies from pocket friendly to huge brands, which even though might be expensive are worth the buy. They did not stop at tier 1 and tier 2 cities but made sure they go beyond. Tier 3 cities are not the easiest market to advertise for fashion so they introduced brands which would fit everyone’s requirement. Fashion might not be the most important factor for everyone but for me when I dress well and to my comfort I automatically feel good about my day. This exact approach is what I like best about the Aditya Birla Group. They work for the people and to do this they spend time to understand the needs. They connect with people at different levels and have made themselves a part of our lives in some or the other way.
Part B
Fear deters actions. It stops you from reaching greatness in your lifetime. Fear was the challenge that I have faced my entire life. It makes me stop and think of all the bad consequences of my next step. It is a challenge which has made my decisions for me. I have tried to get over it or at least reduce its impact. One such fear is of public speaking to an extent that I once forgot my name on stage. Many might not consider it a challenge of life but when anything stops you from reaching your goals in life it should be considered a challenge. I have pushed myself to overcome it and failed many times but it hasn’t stopped me from trying again. One can’t get over public speaking without actually going ahead and speaking publicly, so I started small. I started getting into committees during my undergraduate course where my interaction would be with a huge number of people. Soon after in office I started conducting knowledge sharing sessions within my team. By this phase addressing small groups of people was manageable. The next tough question was my decision for pursuing MBA. Considering the kind of work to follow, questions of whether I could handle it with all my fears was something which took me a while to answer. Finally I am here, trying to achieve my ambition. Today I might still be nervous about public speaking but it doesn’t show on my face. It is still an internal fight which I hope to soon overcome. The good thing is that today it isn’t the reason for me to miss opportunities in life.
