In 2016 I quit my job to pursue my higher studies. Two months later I received news about my
sister that she was diagnosed with high-grade dengue. She was hospitalized in ICU for nearly a
month and later she got recuperated. Following her, my mom was hospitalized for stomach ailments
and severe diarrhea, meanwhile, my pet dog passed away due to parvovirus. In 2017, felt
the devastated-my world had fallen apart when my father was diagnosed with lymphoma-tic cancer
stage 3a. At the same time, it was extremely demanding academic year for me to clear UPSC. It was
as though climbing Everest not only without oxygen but also without clothes. Post chemotherapy
and radiotherapy, doctors declared that he was in remission and I was happily preparing for exams.
Unfortunately within a span of 2 months cancer again relapsed with even higher stage and the
doctors were helpless. I had to haunt various hospitals in various medical methods. I had to plead
insurance for reimbursements. This setback taught me to go against the stream and believe in my
intuition to persevere. I was overwhelmed when my family worked as a TEAM to tackle any
misfortunes.
Then I managed to prepare for CAT and interviews while in the hospital environment. I was able to
prepare only the verbal ability part in the hospital as it doesn’t require any material for working out,
I installed the Merriam dictionary app to play vocabs games, I enrolled in CrackU web test series and I
managed to prepare for it while I was babysitting and finally, I got selected in the prestigious
institution. Learning to trust my intuition has made me a better prepared professional for all time
success.
