College life-crazy people: two things which are inseparable. I don’t know what it is; the joy of college life, the sheer feel of freedom, strange roomies or the huddle of young souls; college brings together band of misfits, every misfit unique in his or her own sense. I too met such kindred souls- my friends, my secret keepers, my band of misfits. Here is a ode to them!
First of all, my roomie, my ‘hillbase’ partner, Arpan Ekka. As single as his surname, Arpan and I share a single quirk; we love running. Not to be confused for weight loss guys, both of us are perfectly fit or that’s what we think. Our love for running is deeper- the sheer joy of leaving everything behind and burning all negativity in rushed breathes. Well normal people run normally but we don’t! It’s a trip from the hilltop to the base and back up, an elevation of 350 feet, covered in 4 kms; every day. We run because it makes us feel free, makes us better, makes us pure again.
Now to my ladybug, Sayali something-something (she has got a complicated surname, like seriously complicated!!). Never in my life have I come across someone so talented and so low on energy to carry out that talent. She is a compassionate writer, awesome poster maker, listens to all my ramblings, always appears sleepy but is never sleepy and most of all, always jittery. Although she calls me crazy, usually in Marathi, but I know a craziness lies beneath those sleepy shoulders. I hope one day she finds that and becomes the ladybug she was always meant to be.
Finally revealing my wingman, Ms. Mitali. Not to be confused with the female cricketer of the same name, Mitali is crazy. She is ‘loco’; a lady who is the perfect amalgamation of a ‘Tomboy’ and a ‘Lady’, she is a strange one. She knows everything, be it studies, people, matters of mind and of course ‘matters of heart’ (that’s why she is my wingman!). She is one of my best friends her, crazy like me, sensible unlike me and overall someone I am glad I found in my life.
So, that’s it; my crazy people, the gang, the marauders!
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
It would be an honor to serve in any company of the esteemed Aditya Birla Group. I would like to work for Hindalco Industries Limited. Hindalco is the flagship company of Aditya Birla Group and a top global player in metals space. Coming from a mechanical engineering field, I feel that I will be able to contribute to the success of Hindalco. I believe working in a global player like Hindalco would give me learning opportunities which would be unparalleled.
