ABLGP has been a crucial part of my life; I still remember preparing for my first college interview and the first business suit I’d buy for it. With so much on the line, it had to be a perfect fit and Allen Solly provided me with exactly what I was looking for. The Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) is India’s first billion-dollar fashion powerhouse with leading fashion brands of India. Iconic brands like Ralph Lauren and Ted Baker have also walked the Indian ramp with ABFRL.
The omnipresence of the Group’s products and the way they touch lives across the world has positioned it as a super-brand that enables and empowers people at every step of their life. With the world’s leading sustainable manufacturer of carbon black additives under its wing the ABLGP has proved its commitment towards making lives better. The welfare driven activities undertaken by the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development reaches out to 7.5 million people annually. The group’s efforts to collaborate with various government organisations to create model villages and to uplift them from abject poverty are a symbol of its genuineness.
Be it training with the army personnel at 4 in the morning or the coach shouting to swing the bat right, life has always thrown various challenges towards me. But I believe how I’ve been tackling them is what defines me.
Training at NCC Camps along with soldiers was one of the toughest things I had to do. Waking up at 3 in the morning for a shower followed by a 6km jog with a condition to start again if taken a pause in between was a difficult task. The only thing that kept me going through these circuit trainings was my perseverance. . From motivating them through all the difficulties to leading them with example, I knew I had the responsibility of the whole team on my shoulders. This further encouraged me to perform my duties with diligence.
Along with it, Playing Table Tennis Tournaments was also a part of my routine. It’s a tedious job because hitting the right stroke needs precision like none other, which comes only with dedication and a lot of practice over the years to master every stroke. I was able to overcome these challenges with a very strict coach, my dad and my undying will of proving him that I could play better than his son.
The downside of perseverance and hard work is that they take time, time to build value and create a space for you in this competitive world. The most important attribute is courage; courage to believe in yourself and courage realize your dreams.
