IIM Kashipur is located in the city of Kashipur, Uttarakhand. Kashipur is a small town which is in the vicinity of a huge industrial belt. Placed near the Himalayas, Kashipur also provides a great opportunity for the students to get in touch with nature and enjoy the natural beauty. IIM Kashipur is a relatively new college for management established in 2011, but in a short amount of time, it has carved a space for itself among the top B-schools in India.
The campus of IIM Kashipur is placed outside the main city for a nice peaceful study environment. The hostel and mess food facilities are one of the best provided in other similar B-schools. Every hostel has single occupancy rooms with attached bathrooms. And the Common rooms are equipped with amenities like Water Purifier, Washing Machine, Fridge, and Microwave. The mess is completely managed by the students of the mess committee and has excellent food quality with the food being nutritious. The college provides buses for commuting to the city on regular basis. But there are basic amenities available in the college itself that limit the requirement to visit the city for any regular items the student might need. The Uphar Vatika Shop, Choudhary canteen, Namo Canteen provide students with the items they need or the snacks and similar foods that they require to break the monotony from the mess.
There is ample space in the campus which can be owed to the fact that the IIM Kashipur boasts 200 acres of area for itself! The campus has lots of open spaces that are used by students in recreational activities. They can be seen playing cricket, badminton, and football in these places. Also, the mess provides a place for people interested in playing Table Tennis, with different people seen playing it all day long.
This being a B-school, requires a certain rigor that makes the student stand apart from the students in other B-schools. But the recreational activities and the healthy food give the students be always ready for what comes next. Saturdays and Sundays are off for classes, during which there are various clubs and committees which conduct events to refresh students.
There is also an Open-Air Theatre in IIM Kashipur which hosts the fests and festival celebrations with lots of joy in them. Also present is an Auditorium that is used for various guest lectures or company interactions.
The faculty in IIM Kashipur is excellent, to say the least. Students feel lucky to be taught by some of the best faculties of management. Be it Operations, Marketing, Finance or HR these faculties give life-long lessons which will make you a knowledge packed and confident person. Wherever you will go, you will feel the importance of your learnings and utilize it in different areas to achieve success in your domains.
Guest lecturers visit the college at regular intervals to inspire and interact with the students. There is a healthy two-way discussion between the students and the lecturers, providing learning opportunities to the students. Students are suggested to speak up and come up on stage from time to time, to build up their confidence and public speaking skills, which will benefit the students to become future leaders.
