The warm welcome with a luxurious stay at a 5-star hotel, the showering of thoughtful welcome gifts, and the comprehensive induction program marked the beginning of an incredible journey. This sincere attempt by the organization to make me feel valued spoke volumes about its work culture, ethos, and values.
The initial days were filled with enlightening interactions with distinguished senior leaders including Supratik Bhattacharyya (Chief Talent Officer, Group HR), Mayank Agrawal (Head of Oil & Gas Pipelines, KEC International), Jayasankar Kuruppal (Head of Manufacturing, CEAT), Kaushik Chatterjee (Head of Global Delivery (BFSI), Zensar), Rajat Bhargava (CEO, Specialty & Head of Group Transformation), Vivek Ranjan (CHRO, Zensar), and Suhas Shenoy (VP HR, Zensar) among others. The wisdom they imparted, their profound insights, and their invaluable guidance have left an indelible mark on my professional journey. It was a privilege to learn from such esteemed leaders who demonstrated a genuine interest in my growth and learning.
My project mentor Abir Ghosh and project buddies Ninad Rajput and Advait Yatin Gunjikar were the pillars of my internship experience. Their proactive approach, their dedication towards my development, and their unending support made it possible for me to set ambitious goals and embark on a rewarding journey. The frequent feedback sessions were instrumental in enhancing my learning curve and offered a platform for me to constantly improve.
The HR leaders Vinayak Talwar, Kiran Baby Joseph, and Prarthana Majumdar also deserve a special mention for their relentless efforts in ensuring the success of the program. Their approachability, understanding, and willingness to listen created a safe and inclusive environment. I always felt comfortable approaching them with any challenges I faced, knowing I would be met with understanding and support.
Now, let me delve into the core of my internship experience - the project I was involved in. This project required me to gain deep insights into the cloud services market. I delved into market research and did competitive benchmarking, which helped me understand key trends, market drivers, and growth areas. The opportunity to perform market sizing and create ideal customer profiles by highlighting industry-specific key requirements for cloud foundation services enriched my understanding of the industry.
A significant part of my project involved conducting a Go-to-Market strategy (GTM) and revamping the sales pitch by creating a unique positioning. This experience not only enhanced my marketing skills but also offered a fresh perspective on the strategic role marketing plays in the success of a product.
The learning did not stop with my project. I also had the chance to learn from my talented peers and their projects through regular interactions. They added another layer to my learning experience by sharing their insights, knowledge, and perspectives. The diversity in projects and the collective wisdom of my peers indeed added a unique dimension to my learning experience.
Being selected for ‘The Excalibur’, award for the best summer intern project, as one of the top 7 finalists out of a pool of 41 talented RPG interns was truly an honor. The opportunity to present my work at the Excalibur event in front of senior leadership was a milestone moment in my career. I deeply appreciate the recognition and the chance to showcase my abilities. This recognition was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion I put into my project.
As I look back at my internship experience at Impressions, I am filled with gratitude.
