Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life Aditya Birla Group is an Indian Multinational Conglomerate which has interests in viscose staple fibres, metals, cements, branded apparel. Big is all about great style and Peter England is the brand which brings style to men’s lifestyle. Peter England is an international brand which comes under Aditya Birla Fashion Retail and has positioned itself in formal wears, casual wears, ethnic wears. It was acquired by Aditya Birla in 2000 and became India’s leading menswear brand. Peter England is able to attract young professionals like me as they had apparels which are catering the needs for every fashion occasion. Peter England is value for price, and the association of foreign name to its brand gives international fame to it. Peter England focused on lifestyle rather than on product based communication which helped them to position themselves more than merchandise in the mind of young professionals. They also strengthened their offerings in non-formals or casual wears and started communicating about the same. Therefore when it was casual Fridays in corporate we as young professionals used to opt for casual wears of Peter England. They also widened their product portfolio by bring ethnic wears in their collection to attract more crowd towards their brand and made strong presence in the minds of customers and also in the Indian market. They also offered innovative collections in denims, linens and accessories which strengthened their brand. So the brand was associated with work place dressing, appropriate fashion for workplace, comfortable elegant and classy. How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far Before joining NMIMS, I had worked at worked in 3dPLM Software Solutions and Cognizant for tenure of 4 years. While working at 3dPLM, during one of my engagements, my Manager had to travel to UK for some unplanned business meetings with other clients. We were a team of six, my Manager, two new analysts, me and a Senior Consultant scheduled for the project. The Senior Consultant on the engagement met with an accident and I had to take over the senior role on this Provider Care Engagement. There were client meetings, stringent deadlines, deliverables that required strong technical skills and judicious time management. I was responsible to assign tasks to the team members, guide them on the technical and documentation aspects, closely work with the onsite team and provide our assessment results to our financial audit team in a timely manner. I adopted a flexible approach to different situations and applied learning wherever required. I have successfully worked with teams, both onshore and offshore and built good working relationships internally and externally. Due diligence, taking ownership of my work, and building successful working relationships were, I believed were the drivers in successful completion of all my projects. Before this incident, I was not sure whether I will be able to work under pressure and handle team on my own in such critical situations with higher management and clients constantly asking for updates on call. But this incident helped me to evolve myself and work under stress situation to deliver the result my team and organization needed. #NMIMSMumbai #ABGLPWooMe
