Aditya Birla Group, a brand which is instilled in Indian lives more than anyone could imagine. Take a name and
‘Wapaah’ it’s already there, be it Forever21, Pantaloons, Allen Solly, Freshpack aluminium foils, life insurance, Hindalco and many more.
Could it BE anymore involved? Yes, you are right, I took F.R.I.E.N.D.S reference, mainly because I am intoxicated with that show and Rachel’s fashion. It’s from there that I started looking for work fashion and guess where my search ended. Exactly, what better place than an Allen Solly. It’s a brand that has transformed how Indian office employees used to see at their dressing lifestyle. Allen Solly was the modernizer in bringing semi-formal revolt to the Indian market. It is the amalgamation of youth’s desire to make a fashion statement and a working professional’s office attire. It was the first interview for my MBA journey, and I had to wear formals. My roommate suggested me to buy from Pantaloons. Since that day, I have become a religious customer to visit this multi-brand fashion retail outlet owned by ABG. It carries ABG’s in-house fashion brands Peter England, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Louis Phillipe, and People.
The products of Aditya Birla Group are so ubiquitous that I cannot believe that there would be any day when I or someone is known to me has not encountered one of them. I still remember when I was moving out of my hometown for my higher studies, it was ! dea my mother relied on, it will never let us feel apart. ABG as a group is not just a group with materialistic products to offer, but there are emotions attached. The bond, the trust, the reliability, all these factors together make Aditya Birla Group what it is today. When my new house was in the construction phase, my father has given the constructor clear instruction not to use any other brand but Ultratech cement. While asking about the reason for his direction, I got to know that it was because my grandfather would have relied on Ultratech only.
Talking about how I overcame the challenges in my life, my rule is simple. There is a quote by Paulo Coelho in The Alchemist, ‘When you want something, the whole Universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.’ And I believe it from the bottom of my heart, maybe that’s the reason for my perseverance. It had become my dream for doing MBA from an IIM. But for a person with inconsistent performance in academics ranging from average to top scorer, it didn’t seem a very achievable goal. Raised in a family of humble background and having a family in which the maximum one has studied (if any) is till graduation added the cherry on top. My first attempt at CAT resulted so bad that even my biggest supporter, my father, asked me to go ahead with whatever I have got at that time. It was for my perseverance and diligence that in my very next attempt, I had calls from nine IIMs and converted seven of them. My learning from this is the fact that you have to take stand for yourself, set goals, run to achieve these goals, fall, stand again, dust yourself, and run again.
