An MBA is not about learning a few concepts in the class and then following the traditional methods of the company. An MBA is about bringing new trends and not just following the trend. Huge part of an MBA’s learning happens outside the classroom. Blogs focusing on the changes coming around us go a long way in contributing to this learning. Be it the quirky marketing campaigns or the new rules introduced by the stock market regulators, these blogs keep you updated with what is happening in the world around you! Here is a list of blogs one must follow to remain updated and filled with new ideas!
Marketing Blogs
Activation Ideas- A blog that will give you ideas to design a marketing campaign- something all the case competitions and your marketing internships focus on. Here, you will find ideas adopted by different brands-  be it an unpopular campaign or the superhot campaigns of the industry. Mashable- This is the website to get the marketing updates of the world in a single click! Excellent interface, quality content and handpicked pieces received over e-mail if you subscribe to it. Ads of the world- This is basically the Netflix of advertisements. It is one of the world's largest archives and collections of advertisements from across the world and this is something you should really check if you are developing advertisements for new markets. Ogivly- The brand responsible for designing many successful campaigns will also be a part of your MBA case studies. With a collection of the world's most creative advertisements, this website displays unique and creative ideas and also explains the work that went behind creating them. Mad Over Marketing- Are you using social media? Are you from India? M.O.M is your go to page for creative ads and campaigns. Even meme lovers love this page! They often edit the famous ads and add their own angle making it more interesting for the readers.
Finance Blogs
Finshots- Want to understand finance concepts like “yield curve” in an easy manner? Want to know how is the economy changing? What is the new Holding act of USA? Finshots brings you all these explanations without any jargons. Trendlyne-If you are into finance, you will not be reading equity research reports, you will be devouring them! You may not always have access to the Bloomberg terminal. This site will be your savior then. You can find some really useful and credible equity research reports here. Musings on Markets- Who can teach you better finance than Prof. Aswath Damodaran himself- whose book will be your bible for learning finance. He talks about valuation and corporate finance- the bread and butter of any finance enthusiast. Try mailing him if you don’t get a concept. He responds very actively!  Prof. Sanjay Bakshi's blog- Fundooprofessor- Learning it from the man himself who inspired a lot of engineers to take the path of finance and not be afraid of it. You can start with “Vantage Point” to gauge how good he is.  Corporate Finance Institute- From learning concepts to getting handy excel sheets, this site will make your life very easy. You have the videos to learn any concept be it synergies or valuation or forecasting etc. along with the excel sheets to learn by doing for free!
Operations
Jay, Barry and Chuck's OM Blog- From the theory of operations management to the problems in operations of large organisations- this blog has everything related to operations management. OpsMan- The site run by Warren Kahn, will give you access to new technologies especially in the field of IT. It will teach you how to use the ever changing technology to build your own career. The Operations Blog - This blog will help you gain insights on how to improve customer experience, service operations and employee experience.
Consulting
Consulting Success-Consulting Success, which is run by Michael & Sam Zipursky, will be one of the first search results that come up with any query related to marketing and selling consulting services. With a fantastic design and superb content, this comes as no surprise. The Zipursky cousins are marketing masterminds, and have deep expertise in how consultants can build a thriving consultancy.

David Fields-Irresistible Consulting Moments-  The blog, written for independent consultants, feels as though David is talking directly to you as a mentor or consulting coach. The content found on David’s blog is remarkably consistent and approachable. They include cartoons (drawn by him) that provide much-needed humour in an often stiff, dry industry. They also help solidify the ideas and concepts he writes about in his blog.

All the best!
