“Real education enhances the dignity of a human being and increases his or her self-respect. If only the real sense of education could be realized by each individual and carried forward in every field of human activity, the world will be so much a better place to live in.”

- A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

As the 1st year of MBA drew to a close, an unwavering ardour of interning was running high in all of us. After three terms, we had finally gotten a chance to step outside the college-life bubble and convert our college education to real education.

Next Destination – Brillio: Bangalore

Brillio was kind enough to provide all the interns with a week’s hotel accommodation, which helped us acclimatize and interact amongst ourselves.

The internship began with a meeting with the leadership, who were spearheading different roles, to give us an insight into the company and its core values. Then we were all airdropped into the respective teams and the mentors and buddies took over from there. With the projects being assigned and communicated, we had to hit the ground running to ensure that we could get the work done in the stipulated time frame. All the projects were live, and the margin for error was almost next to none.

At Brillio, we were an essential part of the company and the intern tag didn’t matter at all. We were working on live projects ranging from sales enablement to solution consultancy to competitor benchmarking, each uniquely challenging and critical in its own right. Our mentors and buddies were always there for us and were very encouraging when it came to developing our own methods and relying on our acumen to solve the issues.

The culture at Brillio was also one of the things that had floored me. Apart from no dress code, there was also no time-logging, and my team had frequent outings and parties. We weren’t interns, but we were a family. I left with a lot of learnings, new-found friends and memories that I’ll cherish forever.
