The need of a common-man which correlates with the famous phrase, resonates in my mind: “Roti Kapda aur Maakan”. Aditya Birla Group (ABG) has made its presence felt in fulfilling this basic need of a person. ABG has provided comfort in innumerable ways to the people in fields of insurance, financing and wealth management. Aditya Birla Group has influenced my life right from the childhood in every aspect. Be it the delicious tiffin wrapped in Freshwrapp to buying formals and suits from Van Heusen for my Masters Degree in Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, ABG has left its mark on my life. The joy of shopping in More Super Mart to the fascination of watching how Ultratech cement could bind such a big house, my biggest memories have revolved around ABG. A lot of first time in my life are linked with ABG starting from using my first salary at Pantaloons to buy gifts for my family and More Supermart being my saviour during my first stay away from home. Being a person who genuinely looks to help people in distress, ABG is a perfect role model wherein it starting from the polio campaign to the opening of various medical camps and hospitals to skill training of various people, has touched millions of lives and inspires us to take initiative to help people in possible way. No doubt, Aditya Birla Group is a household name and plays a significant character in small to big stories in a family and in a household.
I am a firm believer that success is not only defined by the wealth that you accumulate but how you pave your path towards it, what sacrifices you and your family need to go through to achieve that success. I do not think that a man craves for only money in his life. What defines a person is his character and attitude in dire situations where everything seems lost. I still remember clearly during my 3
rd year of Engineering when I with my senior, who was almost like an elder brother to me, were trying to setup SAE CET-B club in my college. Being a premier college of my state, we were not involved in any national level automotive events and we wanted to correct the issue by setting up a SAE club so that we could participate in various events and give a platform to our college students to excel. When the dream looked to become a reality, I lost my beloved senior in a fatal accident. In a blink of an eye, I lost my senior, my brother, my mentor and more importantly a friend for life. With placements around the corner, I was in a mental dilemma. The go getter in me died and everything seemed lost. It did take time but after days of self-reflection, I realised the job needs to be completed just for his sake and also to fulfil the dream that we both had focussed on to make our college become a force to reckon at national stage. This instinct ignited the zeal in me to get going and finally I managed to setup the SAE CET-B club in my college.
As of now our college has achieved some remarkable results in various All India BAJA and EcoKart Events. The mentoring that I had received from my senior helped me convert Maruti Suzuki India Limited during my placements and his words still drive me to rise higher and higher in my career. Now I have begun my journey in Indian Institute of Foreign Trade to accelerate my career progress and rise to the top of the corporate pyramid. That incident has helped me realise that no challenge is big enough to stop you from achieving your dreams and with grit and determination, the world will be at your feet. With the ambition of being the next big thing in the corporate world, I have set on the journey and I do believe that it will lead me in the right direction
